Please excuse our site while we are under construction on some pages.
Our club was formed in May 2003, by Lynette Howard
and Kathy Abbott.  They both belonged to our
neighboring club to the south of us, "The Sandy River
Riders".  With support and encouragement from the then
President, Bill Birden, they branched off to a club in
Phillips.  Our first official meeting was held June 12th,
2003.  In the first year we gained sixty three regular
members and sixteen business sponsors.  As of April
2005 our memberships numbers have almost tripled and
we have a loyal following of business sponsors.

Great progress has been made in establishing trails and
gaining landowner permission, and this year looks to be
just as busy.  We are currently working on a GPS map
and the actual mileage of trails established so far.

For those of you not familiar with Phillips, we are nestled
in the western mountains of Maine. Saddleback,
Sugarloaf, Jackson Tumbledown, Mt. Abram, Mt. Blue
and the New Vineyard Mountains to name just a few, are
all within riding range. We have the Sandy River, which
starts just North of us, in Madrid, winding its way down
through to Farmington, and eventually will dump into
the Kennebec River. Wildlife is in abundance, and you
never know just what you'll see. All of this makes for
some excellent scenery on the trails.

Like all clubs being formed in the State of Maine, we
hope to promote healthy land-owner/user relationships,
increase the number and quality of trails in the State,
and create an alliance strong enough to be heard in
legislation, to protect the privilege to ride in
this great state.

RIDE SAFELY!
